Could They Be Related?

With much persistence and dedication we finally have a picture of Kody smiling. Wasn't the wait worth it!!??

A Challenge...

Getting Kody to smile for the camera is harder than I ever imagined! He can be so happy and then as soon as I pull out that big black thing, he becomes very very serious! The next couple are as good as it gets...for now. You'll have to trust me when I say...he has a killer smile! I'm not about to give up yet!









Lucas on the other hand is full of smiles these days. His jealous bone has finally emerged. Anytime I'm playing with Kody or taking his picture, he tells me "loot at me, mom" or "tiss me, mom" or "cheese" so that i'll take his picture (which I 'm grateful for since he use to never let me take it). He's a handful at times, but then he can turn around and say the funniest things. Last night when we were sitting down to eat dinner he said "otay, lets eat!" and of course...we all laughed.

Other news:
A week from today, we (me, Kody & Lucas) fly to Arizona. I can't believe it's finally here. I bought the tickets clear back in July before Kody was born. I'm so excited. I'll be staying with my grandpa & grandma Clouse for a few days and then I'll leave for Rocky Point, Mexico with Jed's mom, sisters & aunts. It should be lots of fun. Jed will be home alone for a few days, but then he's heading up north for the Elk hunt with his dad and my dad. It's his first elk and he's pretty excited!

Our First Niece!

Little Abby Lyn Call made her entrance this afternoon. She weighed 7lbs 11ozs. I am so happy for Shara and Aaron. They are going to be great parents! I'm waiting on pictures and as soon as I get some, I'll post them. We are now officially an aunt & uncle and the boys now have a cousin! Yeah!

Two Months Old...

or 9 Weeks! How can that be possible??!! He had his well check appointment today.

Weight: 13lbs 3 ozs (90th percentile)
Length: 22 1/2 inches (50th percentile)
Head: can't remember, but I know it was around the 50th also.

It's official, my baby's a chunk...but a mighty cute one!!





A few things about Kody...

1. He's holding his head up much better these days.

2. He's awake and alert alot more.

3. He's an excellent eater...and enjoys doing it often!

4. He's pretty much grown out of his 0-3 month clothes.

5. His smiles are to die for!

Blessing Day

We blessed Kody this past Saturday (one day shy of two months old). He looked so handsome in his little blessing outfit. Thanks Mom!! She had to make a new one since Lucas' was to small (and he was blessed at exactly two months)! We are so grateful to all our family that was able to come. We know it was a drive for some of you, but we really appreciate it. After the blessing we had a potato bar...yummy!

Shower(s) and more...

We had a shower for Shara, Tawnya and their baby girls this past weekend. They received some really fun things. Shara, of course, wasn't in attendance. We missed her lots...can hardly wait for her little bundle to come (9 days and counting)!

My non-pregnant sister Jessica (although she did volunteer to stuff a pillow up her shirt so that she could open Shara's gifts) and Lucas.


Kody was FORCED to try on a pillowcase dress (to figure out where to hem it)...I'm relieved that he did not enjoy the experience!!


ummm....where was his mother??? I swear this kid has a hidden stash of pens! Lucky for him, he got a shower (which he prefers over a bath)!

Kody's Smiling...
Kody is full of smiles these days. I just love it...although, it is hard to capture with the camera. So...you only get one with him somewhat smiling! He's now 7 weeks old. We finally worked out a day to bless him...September 15th. My mom is making another blessing outfit since the one that Lucas wore is to small for him. He has a few more rolls than Lucas did at this age!

Jed's Smiling...

Jed's been playing slow pitch softball with some friends. I was finally able to go to the game last week. Nappy was kind enough to watch Lucas! They ended up losing, but it's all for fun...right?! Notice Jed's shirt & Kody's onesie...:) They play again tonight, but its not until 9:30. I haven't decided if I'm going to go yet.

Lucas' Smiling...

he loves loves loves riding in his dads truck. Although you can't tell from the picture...he's in heaven! He's also spending this week down in St. George with Grandma & Grandpa Valentine.

I'm Smiling...

we (and when I say we I mostly mean Jed...I offer moral support) started working in the yard a little bit. We are going to try and have it ready to plant seed this fall so we can have grass next spring! Jed came home from work the other day with an idea...he was trying to pick up all the rocks and pull out the weeds with this contraption. It didn't work so well, but with some modifications, it may just do the trick. He worked a little bit on the park strips last night. Putting in a yard is a lot of work!



We spent Labor Day weekend down in St. George with Jed's parents. We had a great time visiting with family, attending Hurricane Peach Days, and playing games. Lucas stayed down there and I'm sure he's having the time of his life. It's kind of quite around the house without him. I'm hoping to accomplish a few things while he's gone, but so far I haven't done much. The last few days I've been sick with a cold and so has Kody! We credit Nappy for giving it to us...she was sick last week! Hopefully we'll start to feel better soon.
