T-ball

This is Lucas' first year of tball and it has been so much fun to watch.  He loves it and is having a blast learning everything.  His coach this year happens to also be our Bishop since his son is also on the team.  It's been nice to have someone I know on the side lines to visit with too.  It is so entertaining to watch these kids and see how easily side tracked they are.  Sometimes it makes for some really good laughs!!  I'm so glad Lucas is having a good time.  He's even had a few fans come watch the games!  I hope he'll want to stick with it for awhile... especially with a new mitt, socks, pants, belt, cleats & gloves!

Valentine Reunion - St. George

We headed down to St. George last Thursday afternoon for a little Valentine reunion.  It was fun to finally see some sunshine.  The day we left it had started hailing at our house!  I'm sort of sick of the weather right now that can't just stay nice spring weather.

Happy Birthday Ryker

I can't believe your 2!  Although sometimes you'd prefer to be 6, at least that's what you tell us!!  2 years ago you entered this world as our little sumo baby, large for your age (according to the nurses)!  My how we love you.  You have so much personality bottled up inside you.  You can pull the funniest faces... a mad face, happy face, scary face, surprised face, etc.  It's so funny!  You've mastered a sympathy laugh and can turn it on and off in an instant.  You love to yell at your brothers (hmmmm... wonder where you learned that from)!  You're obsessed with shoes and LOVE to wear them!  You remind me so much of Lucas & Kody... kind of a cross between the two.  You love to learn like Lucas did at this age and currently you love to point out colors.  You are also busy figuring everything out just like Kody.  I guess that's what happens when you have them to look to as examples.  You still despise nursery and will only stay (without hyperventilating) if either dad or I are in there.  We've tried a couple of times to have you sleep in a big boy bed, but so far you've freaked out both times and don't think it's fun AT ALL!  Unfortunately, buddy, this is going to have to happen sooner than later!!!  Here's a few of your favorite things right now...

Favorite Move: Tangled  (you request to watch the "horse moobie" all day long... sometimes we've actually seen this 3 or 4 times a day and you never get tired of it, but your brothers are!)

Favorite Animal: A toss up between Puppy & Horse

You are so darn cute I could just squeeze you all the time!  Sometimes you're just like a mini adult as you walk around talking non stop and thinking you know everything.  It makes me smile!

For Ryker's birthday we decided to go play at the Trafalga in Lehi.  This was our first time there and the kids loved it!  We'll definitely be going back!  After church today he got to open his presents.  And much to his brothers dismay, he didn't need help!!  He got a new bike (which he's been riding inv sdvrrr the house for the past week), some new shoes, a couple of fun books, some popsicle molds, a tunnel to play in, a new swimming suit and some bath toys.  We ate homemade Ice Cream and Lemon Pie.  He even blew out his two candles all by himself.

The Graduate

Lucas graduated from Kindergarten yesterday.  He has absolutely loved school this year.  Mrs. Price is an incredible teacher and he's really going to miss her.  He loves to learn and that makes everything fun and exciting.  He's enjoyed learning to read and we'll hopefully continue to work on that during the summer.

His graduation program was so cute.  We're glad Grandma Carole and Nappy were able to be here for it.  In case you can't tell what he says during his part, he says "From Monday to Friday I studied at School".

I can't believe my guy is growing up.  Watching him even gave me some watery eyes at times!  We are so proud of him and all that he as accomplished.  He is such a good boy and we love him so much!!

A couple funnies...

Yesterday the bishop taped this footage of Kody during Nursery.  Apparently he gave all the leaders a good laugh.  I guess we need to work on marching!




A couple nights ago Lucas was saying his prayers and blessed that "the grown-ups will listen to their children."  I don't even think he knew he said it, but I thought it was pretty funny!

Ocho Months

Have you ever seen a cuter 8 month old?  I think not!  I know I say it all the time, but time really does fly by.  We love this rollie pollie!  He is half-way crawling every where.  He rocks on his ands and knees, but most of the time ends up face planting and then scoots on his tummy to where he wasn't to be.  He's fast too!  He has two favorite places he likes to play... the fireplace bricks and the stairs.  Pretty much the safest places we have in our house!!  He loves to pull himself up so he's standing, especially on the bottom stair.  He's thinks he's pretty tricky.  I think he's too young!! 

We like to call him our little stink bug since likes to make that pose quite often.  It's pretty darn cute.  Unfortunately I haven't been able to capture it on the camera yet... but I'm still trying.

He has his two bottom center teeth.  He got the first one during Christmas and the 2nd one last month.  He likes to use his tongue to play with them.  You can kind of see them in the picture.

He's slowly going away from the binky and pretty much has it only at night, and even then he falls asleep with out it sometimes.  He mostly likes to play with it.  By 9 months I hope to have him all the way done!

He's been sleeping through the night since right after Christmas.  Lovely!!  He goes to bed around 8 and sleeps for about 11 or 12 hours.  It's pretty easy to tell when he's tired cause he'll start whining and rubbing his eyes.  When you lay him down he'll grab the blanket and pull it right up to his face.  It's the cutest thing ever.  And he takes pretty good naps too... when he's not interrupted by 2 year old who loves to wake him up!

He pretty much loves all food he can get his hands on and really enjoys feeding himself those puff things.  He likes to repeat back sounds that you make.  He loves Peek-a-boo and especially loves Pat-a-Cake.  He laughs almost every time you start saying it.  He loves to be tickled (actually he probably doesn't, who does??!!) and can't help but laugh.  I love it when he laughs... especially when it's out of control.  Too funny!

Lucas is such a good helper and loves to make sure he's okay.  Kody can't hardly stand it if he's content.  He likes to lay on top of him, try to pick him up and then drop him, ride him like a horse, run over him with the walker, etc.  He's sort of a pill at times!!  Thankfully this doesn't happy all the time and he does give him some good kisses and some serious hugs (ok, so maybe it's more like choking, but I like to think he just loves him lots).

I can't imagine our lives without Ryker.  He brightens our day, everyday!

For the past week Kody has been perfecting the army crawl. Lucas didn't start crawling like this until 10 months. My baby's growing up too fast! Hopefully the video will work, it's kind of a large file. Lucky for you, I stopped recording just seconds before a massive spit-up!

Fun with the Fam!

I had so much fun this past week. My sister, Shara, who lives in Boston, was able to come visit for about a week! Lucas and I picked her up at the airport on Wednesday and brought her back to our house in Spanish for the night. Tawn & Landon came over for dinner and we had a great time chatting...as always! On Thursday we headed up to my mom & dad's house in the afternoon. We first had to stop at Costa Vida for lunch. Shara had a list of places she wanted to eat and that was one of them. Needless to say, we pretty much ate at all the places she wanted (Taco Time...in Tremonton, Dixie Grill, & breadsticks from Pizza Plus!)
We took on the project of making those fun bags. I think they turned out really cute. She also made a couple more for gifts...she's heading to Japan in May!
My mom is going a little baby girl crazy...she is certain that Shara is having a girl! They tied a very cute pink and green baby quilt for her. Unfortunately, she didn't have room to take it back in her suitcase, so my mom & dad will take it with them in June (if it's a girl)! They and Jess are going back for Shara's graduation. Since everyone is positive that she's having a girl...I'm going to make her something blue! I'm hoping it's a boy...for selfish reasons only!!

The weather has been so nice that we had to spend some time outside. Mostly just to let Lucas run around!! He of course, loves to go with Grandpa on the tractor and see the cows. Pretty much anything that involves wearing his hat, boots & scarf! My dad fixed this saddle for my uncle and Lucas loved sitting on it!

We had dinner with my Grandpa & Grandma Nicholas one night. I am so blessed to have them in my life still. Although they are getting much older (my grandpa is 93), they are still full of life. Grandpa can't see very good, but takes walks around the block and still has his great sense of humor. Grandma has a hard time hearing, but she is full of love for her whole family. I love them so much.

I have the best family in the world! I love the relationship that I have with each of my sisters. They mean the world to me and I look forward to the times we get to spend together, which isn't that often. Hopefully Shara and Aaron will move out west so we can see them more! I'm already looking forward to Christmas when will get to see them and their new little baby! Thanks mom and dad for letting us bombard your house for a week. I love all of you so much!!

I had to add this video of Lucas and his Billy Goat laugh. It's usually does it better, but for some reason, he won't do it really good for the camera. He has to work up to the Billy Goat part...it's pretty funny!

Act Like a Puppy...

While Jed and I were in Salt Lake, Lucas was up in Honeyville. He had so much fun that he didn't want to come home with us. He kept telling us "Bye" instead of grandpa and grandma! Nappy likes to have him play like he's a puppy so that's what the video is. The best is the end though...he's so funny!

2007 Here We Come...

Out with the OLD! What a year it has been. My sister Tawnya got married. I quit UVSC and became a stay at home mom. We built a new home in Spanish Fork. Jed graduated with his Bachelor's Degree. We made our first cross country flight to Boston to visit Shara & Aaron. Lucas turned 2 (which automatically implies that some days are terrible!)
We spent the last few days of 2006 up in Honeyville. Both the Valentine's and the Nicholas' has their family parties after Christmas. It's always fun to get together as family.

In with the NEW! For the most part of this year, we have been cooped up in our home because some "bug" decided it wanted us to feel miserable! It started Tuesday with Lucas, Me on Wednesday, and yesterday Jed didn't feel to good! Lucas has been sick the longest though. For some reason he can't keep any solid foods down. He woke us up last night crying cause he had thrown up all over in his bed! (sorry for the details). Hopefully this all passes really soon!

In other NEW news...Lucas is going to be a big brother! I am officially 12 weeks pregnant! We had our first doctors appointment on Jan. 2nd and everything is great. We heard the heartbeat instantly, which was such a relief for Jed and I. I can finally relax. I've been a bit uptight and anxious for this appointment. That fact that I'm getting fatter was a good sign that things were okay!! The baby is set to arrive sometime around July 18th.

WOW...

You only see about 20 percent of a humpback whale above water. Imagine if you could see all of it!!

If you look to the left hand side of the picture, you can see two dolphins riding along the boat.

Rolling over...

Humpbacks use their tail to propel back into the water on a dive. It's huge!

We even got to see them breach the water. It was so cool. They come straight out of the water. Unfortunately I didn't see much of that because I was trying to watch Lucas. I did get to see it a couple of times. Tawnya will have some more video on her blog that's really fun.

Update...

I was looking at our blog today and realized it's been over a week since I wrote anything. I thought I would do an update and I then I realized there isn't much to update you on. Jed's diploma came in the mail today... I guess that means it's official. The school has obviously decided to save money by elimiating the nice display folders that they use to come in. All he got was the piece of cardstock. Thank goodness the piece of paper means something!! We'll have to go pick out frame to display it in.
Since Tawnya has not been working, we have done quite a bit of stuff together. She went with me today to run a few errands. Last week we did the frame project. I think they turned out dang cute! I want to make some more, but I don't have any more room! It makes it fun when the picture/person is cute too.
Lucas has been wearing me out! He is so full of energy and just goes and goes and goes. I just get one room cleaned and he's off destroying another one. He's so funny. If you tell him you are going to spank his bum, he spanks it himself. I can't help but laugh. He's going to be awfully hard to discipline because he thinks everything is funny. We took him to nursery on Sunday for a little bit. He just seems so young. He hit one of the other boys in the face. It's his way of greeting people I guess... He'll go into nursery in three weeks. It'll be interesting to see how they handle him. He doesn't sit still and the whole time we were in there they wanted the kids to do puzzles!
On Sunday we had a BBQ at Tawnya and Landon's. It was a lot of fun. We have such good friends. I hope that when we move, we can still get together. We are really lucky. One of the games that we play a lot is Scum, which is quite fun when we have 10 people.
Jed and I are truly blessed to have such great people in our lives. I really believe that the Lord gives us trials and challenges only to make us stronger and better. They can definetly bring people closer together and I feel that with our family.
