Christmas in a Nutshell

It's been forever since I updated and now I have lots to tell! We've had a very busy and fun couple of weeks. The two boys, Reese, Tawnya & I all headed up to Honeyville the Wednesday before Christmas. Shara and Abby flew in on Tuesday and I wanted to meet my little niece (and see Shara too). Jed and Landon came up on Saturday after they picked up Aaron at the airport. We went to the Nicholas party, which my parents were in charge of. We had fun visiting and playing games and exchanging White Elephants! That night Aaron got out the Wii (their early Christmas present). The Wii is hard work. My arms were so sore for the next couple of days.

Sunday night Kody came down with the 24 hours bug and then I got it that morning. We spent the 24th pretty sickly. Lucas came down with it on Christmas. He felt well enough to open presents and than right after that, he started throwing up. It cycled through almost everyone.

Christmas was great. Lucas sat out cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. We woke up about 7:00. Lucas was in heaven with all the presents. He was so much fun to watch. I felt bad that he was so sick. He didn't get to enjoy his presents on Christmas, but he sure loves them now!! Santa brought him a new computer with games. It was so fun to have my whole family home for Christmas. Jed left that night with Tawnya & Landon to come back home. He needed to work on Wednesday. Me and the boys came back Wednesday afternoon.

On Thursday we headed down to St. George for Jed's Great-Grandma Wulffenstein's funeral on Saturday. She passed away a few days before Christmas. I didn't know her before she became sick, but from the stories I heard, she sounds like an incredible lady. We had a good time visiting our family. We came back on Saturday after the funeral. Tawnya & Landon blessed Reese on Sunday. She's such a cutie. They had a lunch afterwards at our house for the family. It was a really nice day.

Aggressive Oppositional Behavior?!

Holy smokes! Yesterday we were trying to get ready for the ward party...Jed was in the shower and I was feeding Kody in the bedroom. Lucas was suppose to be playing with toys. He walked into the bedroom and I let a scream. He had in his hand a BIG BLACK PERMANENT MARKER...opened! I threw (nicely) Kody on to the bed and ran after him. When what to my wondering eyes should appear...





















and this was only some of it! You can imagine how my stomach just sank when I saw the doors. We tried the magic erasers...and although it took it off of the books, railing, etc., it wasn't really helping out the doors. A lady at the ward party told me to use rubbing alcohol. Walah! All but Lucas's door have come clean (along with the paint). It looks like we'll be doing some touch up painting! Lucas may sport a halo most of the time, but everyone once in a while you can see two little nubs poking out on the top of his head!

The Loot...

I dare say he was spoiled on his birthday! He claims its just a preview of what's to come!! Of course he's kidding...somewhat. Missing from the pic is the huge king size quilt he got from my parents. He wanted one that he could wrap up in and his toes wouldn't hang out the bottom. He said it only took 5 years (I said my mom needed that much time to pick out the fabric)!

Twenty-Seven...

I want to wish my main squeeze a very happy birthday. He turns 27 years old today. I've known him for all 27 of his birthdays...although a few of those are a bit fuzzy! He's my best friend and the love of my life. Lucas & Kody have the best daddy, and I'm one lucky girl to have them ALL in my life.



We hope you have a great birthday Jed. We love you so much and can't wait for you to get home so you can open your presents. Lucas is looking forward to helping!!

Party Part 2

When ever I would ask Lucas what he wanted for his birthday he would tell me...birtday hats, and take, and tandles, and dames, and presents! Minus the games, he got everything else. Grandma & Grandpa Valentine came up to celebrate his birthday and brought the hats and party whistles. He was in heaven. He loves opening presents! He got a new car, a CD player, Primary Songs CD, Fun Songs, Books, Dinosaur & some money.

I had asked Lucas earlier in the day what he wanted to eat for his birthday dinner and he told me "enchiladas & pizza". We took him out for some pizza. While we were at dinner he said "I love my dinosaur and my boombox". Jed and I just looked at eachother and started laughing. When we asked him if he had had a good birthday, he said "not yet"! Funny kid.

After Jed finished putting this car together, I had to take a test drive. (It wasn't Lucas's b-day yet and he was in bed). It is the funnest little car. Lucas loves it! He rides it around the kitchen.

Party Part 1

We had a little b-day party for Lucas on Saturday the 1st. Grama Carole, Grampa Mark & Tawn came over to celebrate. Lucas was so excited to open his presents. Lucas requested pizza for lunch. I made him a tractor cake and Jed decorated it. Lucas wanted more candles on his cake. We compromised by letting him blow out the three candles...multiple times. He got some fun presents...a dinosaur book, animals, clothes, Lincoln Logs, a Wingo car, & CD of fun songs.

He's 3!

Happy Birthday Lucas! I can't believe it's been 3 years since the first time I held you in my arms. You have brought so much joy into our lives! You are so full of life and it always amazes me at how you can keep going and going without stopping. Although...as soon as your head hits the pillow at night...you are sound asleep!

You are hilarious! The darndest things come out of your mouth and it always make me smile. Just the other day, I heard you telling Kody "I so proud of you". You tell me almost daily "mom, you so bootiful"....ahhh, melts my heart! The words "I Love You" are repeated many times a day. Today when I asked you what you wanted to eat for your birthday dinner you said "enchiladas & pizza"!

You are such a good big brother. You are extremely protective of Kody, and constantly worry about him. If you hear Kody crying, you run into his room to make sure he's okay. You aren't quite convinced that you should share the toys yet!

Nursery has been a bit of a challenge for the last 6 months or so. You love to play as long as either me or your dad are in the room. Otherwise, you cry so hard you can't even breathe. We aren't sure what happened since you use to love Nursery, but we hope that you'll love Sunbeams come January.

Some of your favorite things right now are: dinosaurs, cars, pizza, mac & cheese, Scooby Do, zoo animals, pepperoni & books.

I am so glad that you are a part of our home. You are a special little boy with so much spunk. Our family wouldn't be complete without you. I love you so much!
