Last night we drove out to see the home again. It's all framed now! We got to walk through the downstairs and the upstairs. They did a good job making the floor and the stairs not squeak! Today should be the day they put in the windows and doors and hopefully the shingles.


Our backyard is from the sidewalk straight out to the first pole and up to the house. It'll be a good size backyard.

Home Update

Last night we went out to see how our home is coming along. This is what it looked like. Yesterday morning we had a meeting with our construction guy. We went over all our options, upgrades, etc. so that we were all on the same page. I can't believe how fast it's coming along. Hopefully nothing slows it down. Once they filled in our hole with all the dirt, we got to finally see how big our backyard is. I should have taken a picture of it. It's fairly big, which we are excited about. I'm glad that we chose the corner lot. Our property pretty much goes to the sides of our neighbors. They don't have much of a side yard at all. We are the second to last home to be finished on our street. Once we move in, there will hardly be any construction by us. They still have to start the homes on the rest of our block, but it won't really affect us.
Today we leave for Beatty Family Reunion. We will be down there until Monday. We'll have to check again then to see how much more they have done.

Cutie Patutie!!

I just had to put this picture up since I think he's so cute. He loves to wear the beach towels around his neck. Today we had pre-tot class and they are swimming in little pools. He loves it, for the most part. He's not sure about getting splashed on, but as long as he's doing the splashing he's fine. This morning the Physical Therapist came. She said that he is doing wonderful. He is suppose to practice stepping up and down of this box that she left for him. He goes up really good, but coming down he's not so sure.
My washer still isn't fixed. They said that they would install it for free since it's been almost a month since they first came out. Yesterday I took all of my laundry over to Tawnya's. Now I'm all caught up for a little while. Hopefully the part will be here next week.
Fieldstone called yesterday and said that we are looking at a closing date of September 8th. Of course that is if everything goes well! They were suppose to start framing yestereday. Tomorrow we have a meeting with the project manager over our home. So far so good! When we drove out there a couple of days ago they had all the walls poured. The crawl space underneath our house is at least 7 feet tall. You could almost have a basement. We are hoping that the door to the crawl space will be located somewhere convienent so that we can store stuff down there.
We are getting excited about our trip to Boston. We went and bought some new luggage. I have some, but Jed didn't have any. Shara has it all planned out for us. We are going to have lots of fun!

Nicholas Family Reunion

This past weekend was the Nicholas Family Reunion at Earley Park just past Deweyville. Before we headed up to the reunion we had to stop at the airport and pick up my cousin Lynsee. She's going to BYU Idaho for EFY. She came to the reunion with us. We had such a great time. It's fun to see family that you don't get to see that often. My dad's sister, Grace and her husband, Jim, were in charge of this reunion. They always have such fun things planned! I forgot to take pictures, but you can click on the Kesler's and see some of the fun things that we did. We had a really nice FHE that honored my grandparents. They are such good people and I love them very much. We also played BINGO and had a fun family competition. Some of the things were dart blowing, frisbee toss, croquet challenge, twinkie eating (yuck!), jump roping, jacks, soduku, and puzzles. We laughed so much. We might have won except Lynsee started choking on the Twinkies!!!
This weekend we head down to Cedar City for the Beatty Family Reunion. It sounds like lots of fun and we're excited to be with family.

Footings

This is what our home looked like as of last night. I was a little bit upset with it since all the of the foundation was suppose to be poured by yesterday. Jed said it would only take a day to pour, but I was still frustrated. I called on it today and our sales counselor said that today everything was poured and they will begin framing on the 18th. I was pretty excited!! Now hopefully they will keep up with the schedule so that we can be in the first part of September. I'm worried that they'll have us close the week that Jed is in Milwaukee. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that it's before that!!
Since we sold our home, everything seems to be going wrong. The washer still isn't fixed. Hopefully they'll fix it on Monday. It's been a pain to be without a washer. It's a good thing I have a good sister and bro-in-law that lets us use theirs!! The sprinkling system is having some issues and the water pressure from the bathroom sink is sparce. I'm ready to get out before the roof falls in!! :)
Jed had a baseball game yesterday. It's been fun to watch him play. They didn't win, but I think they still have a good time. Last Saturday they also lost, but they played awesome. It was one of the funnest games that I've watched. Jed went 4 for 4 in hitting. He'll miss the next two Saturday games.
Tomorrow we head home for the Nicholas Family Reunion. It's just a one nighter, but it should be lots of fun. Tawn & Lando are coming and my mom. My dad and Nappy are in Flaming Gorge for Youth Conference.

Swim Lessons

Today was the last day of swimming lessons. The first week and the first day of this week he loved it. We learned how to kick, glide like Superman, blow bubbles, jump in, and even go under water. Then it all went down hill from there. For the life of me I can't figure out what went wrong. On Wednesday the water was quite cold. It was also bring a friend day so his aunt Nappy went swimming with us. He cried for most of that day. Then on Thursday we got in and he cried again. I thought it was because he could see his dad, grandma, and Nappy on the sidelines. But then today he cried again and the water was warm today. We did get to go down the big slide. Jed was there to watch. He said that he was smiling when we came out. I think he liked that part. When we finally went to the shallow part, he was a little bit happier. He's so funny though, because when we get to the pool it's all you can do to keep him from jumping in, and then when we are in he wants out. I sure had a great time doing the mom and tots. Hopefully Spanish Fork has something like this for next year.

This past weekend we went camping with Jed's parents and Mariann and Nathan. We went up above Fairview. It was really green and beautiful. Jed and I went up on Saturday morning, came home Sunday afternoon so he could work on Monday, and then went back up Monday night through Tuesday afternoon. Lucas had a great time playing with the dirt, sticks, and rocks. We had to teach him that rocks go in the wagon and sticks go in the fire! They did a lot of fishing while we were there. They didn't keep any of them (which was fine by me!) Lucas and I went for about an hour, but he just wants to jump in the water. The first night we were there I thought it would never end. Lucas didn't sleep very good so we had to put him in bed with us. Then our mattress wasn't cooperating, so that made it very miserable for us. The second night was a little better. Lucas still slept with us, but we fixed our mattress! We were just glad that we had a night in between that we slept in our own bed!!! I was glad to come home and shower and leave all the flying bugs up there! Camping is fun once in awhile, but we are sure glad that we have a cabin to go to most of the time!

This is what our home looks like so far. We took this picture on Saturday morning. The hole is huge though. The pictures don't do it justice. It's so deep it looks like we are going to have a basement, which we didn't sign up for. We wouldn't complain if they did put one in though!! I'm going to try to take pictures periodically to keep you all updated. The first stage should be completed by July 12th. Then it has to sit for a week, I think, and then they start the framing part. If everything goes as planned, we should be in by the first part of September. Let's all keep our fingers crossed!!

Good News...

The good news for this week is that they are starting our new home today. YEA!!! It seems like it has taken forever, but hopefully the next couple of months will go by fast. We finally signed all the papers on our other home, so it is officially sold now. We are able to rent back to the owners until the end of September if we need too. Hopefully we won't have too though. Last Friday we went to Seven Peaks with Jed's work. Lucas had so much fun. He loves to play in the water. He went down the kiddie slide a few times, which was pretty funny. Lucas, Tawnya, and I went home to Honeyville on Friday for my cousins wedding. Jed stayed for his baseball game on Saturday, which he won, and then came up with Landon. The wedding was nice. It's always fun to see family. My cousin Sheridan and his wife Torrie and their cute little kids, Gracie, Maddie, and Cole all stayed at our house too. They live in California right now. We had a great time visiting. I also helped my mom do some of those frames with the ribbon. She used them for our wedding pictures. They look very cute on her wall.
Yesterday was our first day at mom and tots swimming lesson. Lucas loved it. He went under the water a couple of times. It goes for two weeks. Today he has is 18 month check up. It worked out nicely because he's been running a fever since last night, so I hope he's not too sick. I'm suppose to go help at the Soup Kitchen tonight for a couple of hours with some of the Young Women. It should be exciting!!

Father's Are So Special...

Happy Father's Day to our wonderful dads. They are great men and we are definetly blessed to have them in our lives. We also have such wonderful grandpa's too. I also want Jed to know what a wonderful husband he is to me and a great dad to Lucas. We hope they had a wonderful day!!
This weekend we went down to Jed's cabin on Kolob. We had a great time. Lucas played extremely hard. He slept almost the entire way home yesterday. We went around by the lake and Jed and his dad fished while Lucas played in the water. He loves the water!! We took his shoes and socks off and let him wade in just a couple of steps. The water was cold, but that didn't seem to bother him! We start his little swimming class next week and I think he's really going to like it!!
Grandma and Grandpa Beatty came up for dinner on Saturday night. It was fun to see them and visit for awhile. My first time and the cabin, right before Jed and I were married, we carved our name in one of the trees. This picture is of what it looks like now. I always have to go find it every year so that I don't forget where we did it.


Notice Lucas's forehead...he decided to run off our back steps and landed on his head. He sure scraped it up, but he didn't cry for very long. He's such a brave little boy!

Jed has a couple of Baseball games this week and we are going up to Honeyville for my cousin's wedding. Western Star is also having a summer BBQ at 7 Peaks, which we are excited about. I think Lucas will have a fun time there. I think that's it for now...

A Week in Review...

There hasn't been much happening the last few days. Jed started his baseball league last week. The game was at 8:30 at night so I decided to go and Tawnya came with. About half way through it started to rain off an on. When we finally decided that we had had enough, we jumped in the car to head home just as it started a major down pour. We were quite glad that we had decided to leave. When Jed came home he was soaking wet and muddy!! It was fun to watch him play again. He thought he had a game on Saturday so his parents and his sister Mariann came to watch. It turned out that he was misinformed and he didn't have a game. That was okay though because we got to spend time with his parents on Saturdayand Lucas loves to see them. We tookMariann out to see where we are building our home. We found out that our home should go on the schedule in the next week or so. We are excited about that. Everything goes as planned we should be in by the end of August, first of September. While they were here we also went to visit Jed's cousin Jason, who is here in Provo for awhile.
Saturday evening we went to the driving range with our friends Chad & Alicia and little Carter. I'm not very good at all, but it's fun to hit with a driver. On Sunday, Tawnya and Landon came over and we had a little BBQ and played Sequence, and of course the girls won!!!

Summer's are so crazy, at least for us they are. This weekend we are going down to Jed's cabin on Kolob. The next weekend we have a wedding to go to up in Honeyville and the next weekend we'll be camping for a few days. It's fun to go and do things, but it's also nice when the weekends come that we don't have anything!!

I had so much fun in Arizona. I was there from Saturday to Tuesday afternoon. It was a pretty short trip, but I'm definetly glad that I went. My mom and Nappy had flown in on Friday and they are staying until Saturday. The plane ride down Lucas did really good for the first half and the very end, but there was little part in the middle where I'm sure that the passengers on the plane did not like him! He started to cry because he wanted to get down and run. On the plane ride back, he feel asleep during take off and didn't wake up until I had to put him in the stroller to get the luggage. It was sure nice. The lady sitting next to us was especially glad, I could tell she wasn't happy that she had to sit by a baby. Flying is so fast and nice!!!
Lucas immediately fell in love with my grandpa Clouse and learned how to say "grandpa" while we were down there. They were buddy's the entire time we were there. It was so cute. Now he keeps wondering were Grandpa is. My grandpa had a mini stroke a couple of days after Mother's Day in May. He is doing really well though. When he goes outside he uses a walker, and Lucas thought it was so fun. He would sit in the seat and Grandpa would push him out to get the mail. Lucas was such a good boy. The only time he cried was when he fell head over heels down their stairs. He cried for a minute and then was ready to play some more. We took him swimming a couple of times. Both times he didn't want to get in the water because it was cold and then when he got use to it, he didn't want to get out!!
My mom and her sisters always have some project to do when they get together. Nyla had a quilt that she put on. It's a quilt that her daughter pieced, and it is very pretty. Jeanie was having them help her with bags that she was making for her school class. They turned out so cute. She ended up making more than enough so I got one. It'll make a cute church bag for Lucas.
We also did a lot of "Runs and Bunches" playing, which is always fun. And of course, Grandma always cooks such good food. We have to weigh ourselves daily to make sure we aren't gaining 5 pounds a day. On Saturday we had an evening picnic with most of my Aunt Nyla's kids and their kids, my Aunt Jeanie's family, my mom, Nappy, Lucas and I, and Grandma & Grandpa. It was so fun to see everyone, even if it was extremely hot!! We all had a good time. My grandparents live in a nice condo area, and they just took out one set of tennis courts and made a nice picnic area with grass to play on. Lucas loved hanging out with all of his cousins. He liked to follow all the big kids around and watch what they were doing.
It's always hard for me to leave down there. I have such a great relationship with my grandparents. They have been so good to me. I was able to spend two summers living with them while I was working at my uncles office.
Of course I was excited to come back and see Jed. He wasn't able to come because of work. Both Lucas and I missed him very much. I think he found a way to occupy most of his time with Baseball, Golfing, Movies, and spending time with Landon and Tawnya. When Lucas saw Jed at the airport he was so excited to see his dad, and I was too!

Happy Memorial Day...

Memorial Day is always nice because it allows you to take time to remember those who have gone before. This Memorial Day we spent up in Honeyville. It was great to be with family and have an extra day where Jed didn't have to work!! We had a great time visiting with my cousing Jessica and her husband Bryan and their cute little family, Harleigh, Connor & Riatta. They stayed the night at my parents house on Friday. They currently live in Vernal and we don't get to see them that often. On Saturday, Jed, me, Tawnya, Landon & Nappy decided to go golfing...despite the forecast for rain. It ended up raining quite hard, but we had a great time. We were all froze by the end and one golf club lighter, but it was worth it! On the only hole with water, Jed decided to toss his pitching wedge right into the water. It's a good thing he has a sense of humor, because the rest of us thought it was pretty darn funny. His hands were wet and it just slipped right out. Monday turned out to be a beautiful day and we had a BBQ at my grandparents house. My dad was lucky to have all of his siblings here this year. We had a great time visiting with aunts, uncles & cousins we don't get to see that often.
I am leaving for Arizona on Saturday morning to go visit my grandparents. I'm excited to be able to see some of my family I don't get to see that often. My mom and Nappy are flying down on Friday and then Lucas and I will fly Saturday. I found so pretty cheap tickets.

Update...

I was looking at our blog today and realized it's been over a week since I wrote anything. I thought I would do an update and I then I realized there isn't much to update you on. Jed's diploma came in the mail today... I guess that means it's official. The school has obviously decided to save money by elimiating the nice display folders that they use to come in. All he got was the piece of cardstock. Thank goodness the piece of paper means something!! We'll have to go pick out frame to display it in.
Since Tawnya has not been working, we have done quite a bit of stuff together. She went with me today to run a few errands. Last week we did the frame project. I think they turned out dang cute! I want to make some more, but I don't have any more room! It makes it fun when the picture/person is cute too.
Lucas has been wearing me out! He is so full of energy and just goes and goes and goes. I just get one room cleaned and he's off destroying another one. He's so funny. If you tell him you are going to spank his bum, he spanks it himself. I can't help but laugh. He's going to be awfully hard to discipline because he thinks everything is funny. We took him to nursery on Sunday for a little bit. He just seems so young. He hit one of the other boys in the face. It's his way of greeting people I guess... He'll go into nursery in three weeks. It'll be interesting to see how they handle him. He doesn't sit still and the whole time we were in there they wanted the kids to do puzzles!
On Sunday we had a BBQ at Tawnya and Landon's. It was a lot of fun. We have such good friends. I hope that when we move, we can still get together. We are really lucky. One of the games that we play a lot is Scum, which is quite fun when we have 10 people.
Jed and I are truly blessed to have such great people in our lives. I really believe that the Lord gives us trials and challenges only to make us stronger and better. They can definetly bring people closer together and I feel that with our family.

Curve Balls...

Just when you think things are going good and life couldn't get any better, something always seems to happen. Well that something happened to us this past week. May 9th was our first visit to the doctor for the pregnancy, and of course we were excited. We didn't leave the doctor's office as excited though. Dr. Glenn couldn't find a heartbeat so he sent us for an ultrasound. It turned out that it was not a viable pregancy. I should have been 11 weeks along, but the baby had stopped growing about 6 weeks. Dr. Glenn scheduled me for surgery and I had that done the next day. I could have waited it out, but I probably would have still had to have the D&C. I justed wanted to be done with it. My mom came down and stayed with us for a couple of days. She was a huge help with Lucas. 25% percent of pregnancies end with a miscarriage. I didn't realize how high it was. Dr. Glenn is a wonderful doctor and I'm grateful for his help with all of this.
Mother's Day was not the easiest for me this year. I am truly blessed to have Jed and Lucas in my life. They mean so much to me. I am also thankful for our own mothers. They are wonderful moms and we appreciate everything they do for us. We are very blessed to have such a wonderful family. We love you all and appreciate all the love that has been shown to us this past week. It means a lot to us.
