Me and the babe in Arizona!

I had such a great time visiting my favorite people in Mesa. It was quite nice only have Ryker to worry about for a few days. Lucas and Kody kept grama Carole & papa Mark hopping up in Honeyville while I was gone. Thanks mom and dad... you're the best!

Ryker and I flew down in the afternoon on the 30th. Ryker was AWESOME! He only made some noise when he was hungry and then went right back to sleep.

I was so happy to finally get to meet Dax and play with Abby. She showed me her new trampoline and I even bounced with her one of days. She demonstrated her awesome dancing skills and we watched "Winn Dixie" and "Jack" (Yo Gabba Gabba). She is hilarious to watch. She'll be walking and then all of sudden have to stop and dance and then continue walking.



I think Daxton was loving that Ryker was there. Abs loved playing "pat-a-cake" with "Ratah" and especially loved tossing his arms in the oven!

Thursday we had lunch at my grandma's house. She made green chile burritos, one of my favorites, but hardly ever have unless I'm down there. She's had the patio redone and a new door installed. While I was there she had taken everything off the walls, etc. so some one could come take of the popcorn ceiling and wallpaper and then repaint the upstairs. After that, she was getting new carpet. I know she'll love it when it's all done.

On Friday we had a fun (fancy) lunch at Shara's with grams, Jen & Marsha (and her two girls). It was so fun to visit with them. I learned how to make yummy cupcakes with yummy frosting... perfect for decorating. Abby and I were the decorators and I think they turned out might cute (no picture).

We spent Friday night at Embassy Suites in Phoenix. I took some new family pictures for them around the hotel, drank Shirley Temples, ate at the Cheesecake Factory, swam (in the hot tub), and ate a yummy breakfast.

Many thought they were twins... Shara was the assumed mom since she pushed it around most of the time.

Man I love these two. I wish they lived closer!! Thanks guys for letting me come. I had a blast. Can't hardly wait for Christmas.

We flew back Sunday morning and Ryker was an angel again on the plane... until we landed. And then he screamed until we climbed in the car and I could feed him! It was good to see Jed and the boys. I sure missed them.

The Ranch

Tawnya & Landon invited us down for a weekend of fun at the ranch. We, including my dad, headed down Friday evening. We had dinner with some of Landon's family and then the guys headed out rabbit hunting, while me, Tawn & the kids went to bed.

Saturday morning the guys went dove/pheasant hunting. Tawnya and I worked on our Happy Birthday banners while the kids played outside. They enjoyed chasing the goats. Everything was going well until we heard Reese start screaming. Her and Kody had stirred up a red ant pile and she was being attacked in between her fingers and on her neck.

We rode horses, watched them preg check cows, played with puppies and just relaxed. The boys had so much fun with lots and lots of grass and dirt to play in. Next year Landon and Tawnya will have moved down there so it'll be fun to visit more often.

Cabin Getaway

We spent this past weekend up at the cabin with Jed's family. This was our first time up there this year. We got up there about 8:30 Friday night. Lucas asked us about every 5 minutes, the whole way, if we were on the shortcut yet. Finally, around Beaver, Jed finally told him we were on the shortcut (even though we were still on the freeway). He couldn't have been happier and it kept him content for the next 20 minutes or so! Thank goodness for DVD players and a 4 year old that loves movies!

It's always nice to relax with no interruptions. The kids had a ball being able to run free and do pretty much what ever they wanted. The weather was perfect until Saturday evening when it down poured. I was glad it held off until we were done playing outside.

Jed and Shane hunted for pine hens and grouse, but in the end just did a lot of walking! They did see one, but it was to far away.

We played horse shoes and I'm pretty sure Jed could have used a different partner! I think I had only 2 throws make it to the pit (and they both happened to be ringers).

Happenings...

Starting with the youngest...


Ryker rolled from his tummy to his back today. I'm pretty sure it was a fluke. My baby can't be growing up that fast!


He rode in the stroller, with out his car seat, for the first time on Monday. I think he liked it!



He's addicted to his binky! He has to have it in order to fall asleep.



Kody decided our house was a bit to cold and turned the heater on and set it to run constantly. Although I thought our house was stinkin' hot, it took me awhile to realize that the heater was running. He's such a turkey!


He's finally started to say a few more words, that are really only recognizable by his mother!

He's definitely got his b's and d's down!



Lucas has been our medical case this year! We had his second follow up at U of U hospital the end of August. Everything checked out great. We now only have to go once a year... for the next umpteen years! They track HUS patients for a long time. We pray that nothing ever comes of this.


He was sick with a cold/cough in August, but the cough part never went away. His preschool teacher had me come get him one day cause he started coughing and wouldn't stop. I decided to take him in to get checked out. Dr. B thought he sounded quite wheezy so they ordered a chest xray. Apparently the airways (not sure if that's what they were called) through the lungs are suppose to be paper thin and his were about 10 x's that size. He has Asthma! The doctor is hopeful he'll out grow it since he's had it for so long (just never diagnosed). He now has an inhaler that he takes twice a day for a least the next year. It seems to be working which is all that matters.


Funny things Lucas has said...

Lucas: "Mom, just call it school. I'm growing up"

Jed is still working hard. He's been going in every once in a while on a Saturday or Holiday to make up some days. We'll be going to Disneyland in December with his family and then Christmas with mine. This way he'll have plenty of time to take off.



The fall softball league started a few weeks ago and his team (mostly ward member's) is doing awesome. So far they've only lost 1 game. He claims it's really fun to play when you're winning!


As for me...


I love my boys to death, but if I have to clean up one more poop or throw up mess off my floor I think I might sale them!! Anyone know a good carpet cleaner!

I mowed the lawn for the first time this year, Jed thought it was picture worthy!



And just for the record, I finally have 1 cucumber, 4 zucchini and 1 yellow squash growing. If you nurture it... it will grow. I'm sure my neighbors wonder why I even bother, but atlas my tiny little plants have made me proud. Now if only they'll get big enough before it freezes!! But the tomatoes have been delicious... even if they are small! I'm obviously not a gardener!

Labor Day

This year we stayed home for labor day weekend. After a little persuading on my part, Jess came down to spend it with us. Saturday we watched the Cougars beat Oklahoma in their first game of the season. Very exciting!

On Sunday, after church, Jess, Lucas & I drove around to take some new pictures of Jess. Lucas liked being my assistant until he had to walk in the weeds! He and Nappy had a fun time posing together.

Monday Jed had to go into work for a few hours. Afterwards we met Tawn & Reese at Trafalga for some *hot* miniature golf. Golfing with a 2 year might be on the top ten list for hardest things to do with a 2 year old! We eventually straped him in the stroller with the sack of crackers and that kept him occupied for the rest of the time. Both Tawnya & Jed won a free round of golf by getting a hole in one at the end.
