One Week Old

First "real" bath...his cord fell off this morning.



Kody is a week old. I can't believe how fast time flies! He is such a good baby and we are enjoying every minute. I'm feeling really good, other than the nights are just too short!

My mom came and stayed a week with us. Which, in my opinion, was way to short!! I'm sure she was ready to go home though. She was wonderful to help out with Lucas and clean my house. I don't know what I would do with out her...she's the best! Thanks Mom!! I love you!

Jed's parents are coming tonight for a couple of days. Lucas is loving all the attention. Not quite sure what he's going to do when it's just me, him & Kody!! Jed is also taking off the next couple of days and I'm super excited to have him home.

Welcome to the World...

Kody Jedediah Valentine!

He decided to suprise us a little early and came on July 16, 2007 at 3:58 am. He weighed in at 7lb 30z and was 18 1/2 inches. He's adorable and we're completely in love...again! My water broke at home around midnight and by the time we dropped Lucas off at Tawn's and then got to the hospital, it was about 1:30. He arrived about 2 1/2 hours later. I got the epidural just in time because about 20 minutes later I had gone from a 4 to ready to deliver!! They called Dr. Grover (Dr. Glenn was out of town) and she arrived about 5 minutes later. It was kind of funny because she was out of breath from pretty much running to my room! She was great! I'm so glad that he decided to come on his own and I didn't have to be induced. I came home yesterday afternoon and am so glad to sleep in my own bed again!! Here's a few pictures from his first couple of days. We think he's cute...and Lucas has even taken a liking to him!!

Bring on Baby

The date has been set for baby boy #2 to make his appearance. 07.17.07 will be the lucky day! He is, of course, welcome to greet us before that. Jed was quite thrilled since that's the date he originally chose. I was happy that the doc gave us the option since I have been feeling really uncomfortable lately. All the joys of pregnancy...they eventually wear out there welcome! Mostly, I'm looking forward to having another little boy to love as much as Lucas! We have to be ready at 6:30 in the morning for a phone call saying they have a bed ready!

I think Lucas is already starting to feel a change coming on. Jed's work bought us the papasan swing that I had been looking at. After it was all put together, Lucas really wanted to climb in. We had to explain that he's a big boy now. He was really good at swinging it...this baby may experience the "Tidal Wave" without going to Lagoon! Last night we got out the baby bath tub and he's had so much fun playing with it. He's been calling it "baby brother's boat"!

Swimmin', Fishin' & 4th of Julyin'

We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable 4th of July! I, for one, enjoyed the day with Jed home from work. We made an early trip to Bountiful to deliver the green Saturn into the hands of Nappy...but not before we had OUR check in hand!! I know she was extremely anxious to have a reliable car, so hopefully it stays that way. We didn't use it much, so it'll be nice to save money every month by not paying the dreaded insurance payment!

We went to lunch with Tawnya & Landon and than took Lucas to see "Ratatouille". He was not very excited about going to the movie and kept asking to go home. Once it started he was okay for the most part. He ended up falling asleep towards the end. I thought it was a fun show.

Later that night we did some fire crackers in front of our house. Lucas was NOT impressed...to say the least. He kept his hands over his ears pretty much the entire time. We did see some "illegal" ones light up the sky by our house and those he's okay with!

I had high hopes that today would be the big day...but than again, I have high hopes that every day will be the big day!! Sorry mom, you lose! According to the dr., he's ready to make his grand entrance at any time.

On the 3rd, Jed decided we were going to go fishing. I, of course, was a bit opposed to the idea since I knew I would be chasing Lucas around. Jed made Lucas promise that he would sit still and help daddy fish. Let me tell you what a promise means to a two year old...NOT MUCH! We drove up Payson Canyon to a little place called Maple Lake. Jed ended up catching 3 fish. Lucas wasn't that interested in them so he played in the dirt. He did get in trouble a couple of times after throwing rocks...hence the sad face pictures.

Last but not least, we bought Lucas this little pool. He LOVES it! He requests to swim in it daily. Although, in my current with-child state, the heat of the day is not too appealing. We usually have to wait until later so that we can have some shade while he plays. Can I just say how much I love this little guy??!! I feel so lucky to be able to stay at home with him.
