One Year Older...

...am I really that much wiser??? It's hard to believe that I'm now 26. Only 4 years till 30!
I had a great birthday yesterday. Thanks for all the emails and phone calls. I didn't do much during the day, but last night I opened my birthday presents. I always feel spoiled by my family with new jewelry, a few Christmas books, a coat, a dress, some hand scrub (works wonders on dry hands), a new Christmas tree, and a nice framed wall hanging.

Jed took me to Chili's for dinner while Tawnya watched Lucas. Then we went back to Tawn's for some cake and Ice Cream. She had me blow out the candles and I thought for sure there were more than 26 on the cake!! I didn't take any pictures except this one with Lucas wearing some ribbon as a headband...he thought it was pretty cool.


Now...I just want to mention one more thing! Yes...I am almost done Birthday/Christmas shopping! Can I just tell you how nice it feels to see an end in sight. You see...this time of year can be horrible on our bank account. Besides Christmas, we have 8 birthdays beginning at the end of October through December! Last weekend, while Jed's parents were here, we went shopping. Jed & I were able to get quite a bit done. Awwwwwww...what a relief!

23 months and growing...

It's amazing what 23 months can do to someone!! It's hard to believe this is the same little boy who use to sleep in a laundry basket cause he was so small. He's the cutest little guy (or big depending on which picture you look at!). I just love him so much.


Jed went Pheasant hunting with John Owen, Alan Morton, & Nick Warren. They are some good friends from high school. John & his wife Jamie just had a cute little boy, Tyler a couple of weeks ago.

This is my mom after a "Nappy Take-down"...too funny!! My sister thinks she's sooooo strong and can just muscle her way around!! It's a good thing we love her or I might have to just show her who's boss!! :)















This past weekend we went to Honeyville so that Jed could go Pheasant Hunting. Since he was gone all day on Saturday, I finished sewing these cute scripture bags. I didn't realize how much I actually enjoy sewing, as long as it's a straight line.

We also watched the PBR finals, which was kind of exciting. I actually developed some favorite bull riders and hoped they would do good...some did good, others didn't fair to well!!



This morning I finished reading the book "I'll Be Seeing You". I enjoyed every minute of it. The bad thing about finishing a book is finding a new one to read. I'm thinking maybe a new christmas novel, or something like that.

Trick or Treat...

or should I say Trunk or Treat!! Instead of going to the mall, we went to Tawnya and Landon's ward in Springville. Lucas wasn't to sure about all of these scary looking people. He started crying when we came across a "happy" clown!! He practiced saying trick or treat, but he only caught on to the "treat" part...go figure!!

Happy Halloween!

I dressed Lucas up like a little cowboy for Halloween. He looks so cute. I'm not completely a Halloween lover, so we decided to go with a costume that doesn't require much shopping! He already had everything. He loves his boots and wears them all the time. He thinks the belt is so cool and keeps pointing at it and saying "gwampa" since grandpa has one like it. I think we are going to take him trick or treating to the mall. That way we stay warm while doing it! Doesn't he have the cutest wrangler bum you've ever seen!!!

Nappy Rocks!!!

This past weekend was the state 3A high school volleyball tournament at UVSC. My dad and mom came down here on Thursday to stay through the weekend and watch Nappy. My mom is also an assistant coach for the Bears.

Bear River took 3rd place. At first they were a little disappointed that they weren't playing for the championship this year, but that soon faded when they found out they would get to play Morgan for third and fourth place. They played Morgan last year for the championship and lost. The Bears took the lead early and never looked back winning in 3 straight games. It was awesome. Morgan is usally such a powerhouse when it comes to volleyball, but Bear River out played them all the way!! Nappy played awesome...it was so fun to watch her. This same group of girls beat Morgan as freshman. All 6 of the starting varisty are seniors. I don't think they could have asked for a better way to end the season and their high school careers! Because of her awesome performance in the tournament, she is the Standard Examiner's start athlete of the week!! This was also there coach, Suzanne Merrell's last season too. This was also my mom's last year as an assistant coach. I'm quite sad that this is her senior year and we won't get to watch it any more. Hopefully there will be some college ball in the future!

All the excitement, stress, jumping up and down, yelling, etc. left my quite sore for the rest of the weekend, but I'm feeling much better today! Thanks Nappy for a very exciting weekend, WE LOVE YOU!!

Last night we had a little friend get together. Landon & Tawn, Alicia & Chad, and Kenneth & Alyna came over. We had a baked potato bar and played Cranium. It's always fun when we get finally get together.

'Til the Boys Come Home

I just finished this LDS historical fiction book this morning. I really really enjoyed it. Some parts made me laugh and others made me teary eyed. It takes place during the World War I time period. I love reading books about history, but it also keeps my attention with some fictional characters. It's a lot like Children of the Promise, which is my favorite book series. He has also written one about WWII that includes some of the same characters.

Thanks Karli for this fun idea. I had to laugh at Lucas'. I have no idea who Benny Goodman is, but Eminem??!! I did like that his faced matched Shirley Temple since she's adorable!!



Now for Jed's twins...I'm not sure about the first on, but I think Jed and Kenny are long lost brothers!!

Tis the Season...

Okay...so you could say that I have way to much time on my hands. When I should be doing other things, such as cleaning my house, making dinner, folding laundry, etc. I find myself caught up in making our family Christmas card. That's right...I have been thinking about Christmas!! Shara showed me some websites of people who make these card templates for peope to buy from them. I figured I could do it myself. Of course I'm not a professional by any means, but I think they have turned out quite cute. The fun part is waiting to see which one gets sent to your front door!! It's a good possiblity that it's not any of these!!

Oh Honeyville....

This past weekend we took a trip up to Honeyville. My mom came down on Thursday to take Lucas and I back with her. Jed, Tawnya and Landon all came up on Friday after work. On Thursday, we helped pick pumpkins (scroll down for pictures). Lucas was all about helping. He loves going up to Grama & Grampa's because he gets to see all the animals. My dad put a belt buckle on an old belt that use to be Jessica's. Every time he sees it he says "grampa", because he thinks it's just like his!!

When Jed got up there on Friday, he was so excited to go fishing. We drove out to the Honeyville pond just as the sun was setting. We had only be there about 10 minutes when he got a bite. We could see lots of fish jumping, but most were really quite small. We were shocked when he reeled in a rainbow trout about 16 1/2 inches long (see picture on next post). This gave them some hope for Saturday since my dad, Landon, Nappy and Jed were all going. On Saturday, everyone caught a fish and some caught two!! Jed and my dad cooked them on Sunday and said they were quite tasty. I wouldn't know!!

While they were off fishing, we decided to make some scripture bags. They are so darn cute. I haven't sewed for such a long time, so it was kind of fun to do it again.

I love going home to visit and getting to spend time with my mom and dad and even Nappy!! It's always a bonus when Landon and Tawnya get to come too. Thanks everyone for a great weekend. Love you all!
